SharedPeace

Be properly known, before anyone is introduced.

Therapist-led matchmaking for Muslim professionals. Eight sessions of therapy first. Matching comes after.

Applications open now. Our first group starts in January
Therapy comes first

Eight individual sessions help you understand how you love and what you bring, before you meet anyone.

Nobody is watching

One introduction at a time, looked at together by your whole team, with a coordinator who checks in after each meeting.

Selective by design

Every application is read by a person. Not everyone who applies is accepted, and we say so up front.

The journey

Here is exactly what happens, step by step.

Follow the path from your first form to life after the nikah. Nothing is a surprise, and you always know what comes next.

Get ready

Step 1

Register your interest

A short, free form. Read the criteria first. Everyone who applies hears back by January.

Step 2

Screening and assessment

A one-to-one assessment to check the fit. The £250 screening and assessment fee is taken when you complete your full application.

Step 3

Eight sessions, just for you

About three months of one-to-one therapy, online or in person. You look at how you love, how you handle conflict and what you want from marriage.

Matching

Step 4

We find your match

Your whole team looks at every profile together: two therapists and your coordinator, who is also a therapist. You are offered one person at a time.

Step 5

A first photo

Once you are both happy to go ahead, we share a photo through us. Then you decide whether to meet.

Getting to know each other

Step 6

Coffee dates and more

Start with a relaxed coffee, then meet as often as you like. Prompt cards and board games take the pressure off.

Step 7

Check in with your coordinator

After each meeting you tell us how it went. Your coordinator keeps things moving and helps if something feels off.

Saying yes

Step 8

Family, at the right moment

When it feels right, we decide together how and when to involve your families. Never a rush.

Step 9

Premarital therapy

A required stage as you move towards marriage, with a different therapist from the one who assessed you.

Coming next

Step 10

Coaching check-ins after

Optional coaching and check-ins after the wedding, as the first couples complete the journey. Full couples therapy stays with Peace by Piece.

What if you are still waiting?

Your wait is counted from the end of your eight sessions. At six months we have an honest check-in. At twelve months you choose between staying on at no extra cost for up to two years in total, or priority in our next group. We may be able to stay flexible beyond two years, depending on our group. While you wait you get therapist-led resources and webinars.

Why it is different

Anyone can introduce you.
We stay with you.

Some services lean on apps, algorithms and automated tools. We don't. From your first session to your wedding there are people beside you, and our time goes on you.

Held by people, not an app.Your two therapists and your coordinator, who is also a therapist, are with you the whole way.

  • People with you at every step

Your therapists and coordinator, by name, from your first session to your wedding.

Instead of an app, an algorithm or a chat tool
  • You start with you

Eight one-to-one sessions, so you know yourself before you meet anyone.

Instead of a profile and a photo
  • Matched by a whole team

Your whole team looks at each match together, one person at a time.

Instead of filters and endless options
  • Checked on, every time

Your coordinator checks in after every meeting, so you are never left guessing.

Instead of working it out alone
  • Ready before you say yes

Premarital therapy with a different therapist, as you move towards marriage.

Instead of usually nothing before the wedding

No swiping. No bots. People, from beginning to end.

The investment

One clear price for the whole year.

No hidden extras, and nothing more to pay until you and a match are ready for the next step towards marriage.

£3,000one-off for the year, paid in instalments
At your assessment£250

Who it is for

Am I eligible to apply?

Shared Peace is built for a specific kind of person, and that is intentional. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee a place. We build each group carefully, and not everyone who applies is accepted.

The basics
  • Aged 27 to 38 for this group. Candidates aged 25 to 26 may be considered if they show strong professional and financial readiness.
  • A working professional, in active employment.
  • Financially stable, with the means to enter marriage responsibly.
  • Willing to complete identity verification and a DBS check.
  • Applying with genuine intent to marry.
  • Not currently married. This includes a nikah that has not been civilly registered, which still counts as a marriage.
  • Based in the UK, and able to take part in the eight individual sessions, in person or online. Flexible about how introductions and meetups are arranged.
What we look for beyond the basics
  • A thought-through reason for wanting marriage now, beyond "everyone is asking".
  • Some reflection on what marriage practically involves.
  • Willingness to be honest and open across eight sessions before any matching happens.
  • Time and effort to commit. This is not a passive, browse-and-see approach.
  • Trust in your own judgement, without needing outside opinion at every step.
  • Openness to involving family at the right points, without needing them in every decision.
A few practical things we will ask about
  • Your living situation, and whether you want to live with family or move out after marriage.
  • Your expectations around mahr, and whether you are open to negotiating.
  • Your sect or school of thought, and how central it is to your daily practice.
  • Whether you are divorced or widowed, or open to a match who is.
  • Whether you have children, or are open to a match who does.
How we see faith and practice

People come to this at every point in their relationship with faith. Some are deeply observant. Some are still finding their footing. Some are culturally connected but not strictly practising. None of that is a barrier. We ask about practice and sect for matching context, never to judge how religious anyone is. There is no such thing as "not Muslim enough" here.

What we expect from everyone
  • Respect for every candidate and every member of our team, whatever their background or practice level.
  • No moral superiority and no judgement of someone else's choices or past.
  • No shaming, policing or commentary on how someone else lives.
  • Open-mindedness. The process only works when everyone meets each other with respect.
Who this is not for, yet

This process asks for honesty, patience and a willingness to be seen before you are introduced. If that does not feel possible right now, that is completely fine. Come back when it does. It is also not the place for browsing endless options or looking for a shortcut. It is slower and more considered than that, by design.

A note from me

Why I created Shared Peace

Some of my clients have sat across from me for three or four years. They came in doubting themselves, tangled up in family pain or old hurts. And slowly I watched them start to trust themselves.

Then came the moment I never get tired of. They were ready to meet someone, because they were full enough to make room for another person.

I was never in the room when they met people, but I was there before and after, steadying them when the nerves and the what-ifs came up. I walked beside them into marriage, through premarital work and into the early days of it. I have seen what it does to a person to be held through all of it.

So many people have been let down along the way. They have started to believe their time has passed, or that it will never be their turn. I want you to hear this from me: you still deserve to love and be loved. You deserve the chance.

In our community, everyone has an opinion on who you should want. Hardly anyone gets the space to work out what they want themselves. This is that space. We turn down everyone else's noise, get a real sense of you, and work with that.

You can begin without starting from scratch, and you do not have to meet someone alone. Meeting someone should feel safe enough to be yourself, with no audience and no performance.

That is Shared Peace. Eight sessions to begin. A team who holds you the whole way. And the chance to meet someone from a place of peace.

I have wanted to build this for a long time. I cannot wait to begin.

Questions

Good to know

How is this different from matchmaking apps and websites?
Apps give you choice. We give you support. You start with therapy, you meet one person at a time, and a coordinator checks in after every meeting. You are held from your first session through to premarital therapy, not left to swipe alone.
Do you check the people you match me with?
We screen every applicant carefully, including identity verification and a DBS check, and your whole team looks at each match together: two therapists and your coordinator, who is also a therapist. But no service can know everyone completely. After you are matched, you do your own due diligence too, with your family involved at the right time. Part of this process is learning to trust your own judgement, and we support you while you do.
Is marriage guaranteed?
No. We cannot promise a match or a marriage. We can promise a careful process, honest check-ins and a place where you are properly known.
Do I need to live in the UK?
Yes. For now Shared Peace is open to people based in the UK. Sessions run online or in person, and you need to be flexible about how introductions and meetups are arranged.
Is this a therapy service or a matchmaking service?
Both, in that order. You complete individual sessions first. Your assessing therapist and your premarital therapist are always different people, and your whole team looks at each match together: two therapists and your coordinator, who is also a therapist.
What happens after I register?
We read every application. Everyone who applies hears back by January, whether or not they are accepted. If you are accepted, we move you on to your first session.
Who sees my information?
Everything you share is kept in confidence and protected under our data protection policy. We only share what is needed for matching, and only at the right stage.
Is this part of Peace by Piece?
No. Shared Peace is a separate project with its own page and its own way of working, led by the same founder.
Why is the first group a trial?
We are starting small so we can get it right. How the first group goes depends on how many people sign up, and the people who join first help shape what comes next.
